At Hillwood High School, students are encouraged to discover and develop their talents through one of the many art classes available at Hillwood. Students at Hillwood have won several awards in both performing and visual arts. Some notable accomplishments include:

- 2020-1 gold; 1 silver; and 2 honorable mentions
- 2019-2 silvers and 2 honorable mentions
Students also curated an art exhibition at Cheekwood Botanical Garden
Performing Arts
Middle Tennessee School Band and Orchestra Association
- 2023- Band, Choir, and Orchestra all received superior ratings at Concert Performance Assessment
- 2017, 2018, 2019, and 2022-Orchestra received superior ratings in both concert and sight reading
- 2022-Concert Band received Excellent in concert and sight-reading
Middle Tennessee Vocal Association
- 2022-Chamber Choir received Excellent in performance and sight-reading
